Lara Melkert is the founder and developer of the Club17 methodology — a locally adaptable approach that brings government, business, education, civil society, communities and the next generation together around shared sustainability challenges.
It is being implemented in the Netherlands, Curaçao and Oman — each with its own local shape, one shared method.

Sustainable Hospitality & Destination Stewardship
Helping destinations grow without losing what makes them worth visiting.
Vesper Lewis is conducting an independent comparative study into how sustainability is translated into hospitality operations and destination stewardship in Iceland and Curaçao.
The study looks at hotel sustainability strategy, energy and water management, waste and circularity, local sourcing and employment, community value, guest experience and destination identity.
It combines desk research, hotel best practices, operational observations and comparative analysis. The objective is not to determine which destination performs “better”, but to understand what can be learned from different approaches and which practices may be relevant for small-island destinations such as Curaçao.

Her work is driven by a recurring question: how do you turn global ambition into something organisations, communities and places can actually use?
Lara works across sustainability strategy, SDG integration, impact measurement, policy integration, stakeholder collaboration, programme development and implementation. Her experience spans tourism, financial services, local government, culture, sport and community development, in the Netherlands, Curaçao and international collaborations.
A recurring theme is the connection between systems and people. Policy and data matter, but lasting change also requires organisations, communities and decision-makers to understand one another and build the structures needed to act together.
Vesper Lewis is an independent, founder-led advisory practice. Clients work directly with Lara throughout an assignment — from analysis and research to strategy, stakeholder engagement and recommendations.
